Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Department of Engineering Cybernetics, Trondheim, Norway.
The research on UAV and this training netwwork is strategically driven by the Center of Excellence on Autonomous Marine Operations and Systems (AMOS). AMOS and the Department of Engineering Cybernetics hosts a team of PhD fellows and researchers working of UAV research for marine and coastal monitoring applications.
Professors Tor A. Johansen (coordinator) and Thor I. Fossen, NTNU
Instituto Superior Tecnico LISBON (IST), Lisbon, Portugal.
The Institute for Systems and Robotics (ISR) of the Instituto Superior Tecnico (IST) has a strong R&D program in the general area of dynamical systems theory and intelligent robots and systems with applications to land, ocean, and aerial robotics. By bringing together theory and practice, ISR/IST affords young and senior researchers the proper intellectual setting for training in the interdisciplinary field of cooperative autonomous robotics.
Professors Antonio Pascoal, Pedro Lima and Rodrigo Ventura, IST
University of Porto (UPORTO), Porto, Portugal.
The Underwater Systems and Technology Laboratory at UPORTO has designed and developed: Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV); low cost Autonomous Underwater Vehicles; sensor modules; acoustic navigation technology; coordinated operation of multiple autonomous underwater vehicles in an acoustic navigation network with and without acoustic communications; integrated operation of multiple AUVs, sensor networks and UAVs with mixed initiative interactions (human in the loop); and multi-purpose ASV.
Professors João Sousa, Fernando Lobo Pereira and Pedro Aguiar, UPORTO
Linköping University (LiU), Linköping, Sweden.
The Division of Automatic Control hosts approximately 50 researchers, including 25 PhD students, and the research is focused on topics such as control, sensor fusion, system identification, autonomous systems, robotics, and optimization. The division is currently participating in the Industry Excellence Center LINK-SIC, with partners such as Saab Aeronautics and ABB, and the Linneaus Center CADICS, as well as in a number of other academic and industrial collaboration projects.
Professors Fredrik Gustafsson and Martin Enqvist, LiU
University of Seville (USE), Seville, Spain.
The Robotics, control and vision group (GRVC) has strong capabilities in robotics and autonomous systems including aerial, ground and recently also marine vehicles. It has developed many prototypes of unmanned aerial and ground systems and advanced perception, planning and control functionalities. GRVC has a leadership position in the cooperation of multiple unmanned systems.

Maritime Robotics AS (MR), Trondheim, Norway.
Maritime Robotics is a leading provider of innovative unmanned solutions for maritime operations in harsh environments. With technology developed in close collaboration with both civilian, governmental and military partners, Maritime Robotics focuses on delivering high-quality system solutions and products that are cost-efficient, reduce HSE risk exposure and are highly deployable, in any conditions. Their technologies and products operates unmanned in the air and on the surface, and can gather data ranging from air to subsea.
Mr. Vegard Evjen Hovstein, MR
Northern Research Institute Tromsø AS (NORUT), Department for Remote Sensing, Satellites and UAS, Tromsø, Norway.
Norut has developed and used several UAS platforms for research on remote sensing and demonstration of civilian UAS applications. The airframes are designed to fulfill our requirements for a low cost platform, with long endurance, moderate payload capacity and capability to operate without a runway in harsh maritime and polar environments.
Dr. Rune Storvold, Norut
